Job Overview

This role is a Term Contract position with the possibility of extension.

We are seeking a driven and collaborative professional to join our Information Management team as a Data Analyst.

As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders across Council to deliver meaningful insights through data analysis, visualisation, and reporting.

You will help build scalable dashboards, support data governance, and contribute to a culture of data literacy and informed decision-making.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand their goals and deliver tailored analytics solutions that drive smarter decisions.
  • Creating dynamic dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI to make complex data easy to understand and act on.
  • Working in a modern technical environment in Microsoft Azure to extract, transform, and load data meeting diverse business requirements.
  • Handling diverse data sources, from APIs and IoT devices to traditional databases, developing modern data warehousing architectures.
  • Ensuring data quality and accessibility so that Council teams can rely on accurate, consistent information to support their work.
  • Championing data governance and helping others build their data literacy because informed teams make better decisions.
  • Maintaining and evolving our analytics environment, keeping documentation up to date and systems running smoothly.
  • Contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace by applying WHS principles and actively participating in risk assessments and safety initiatives.

About You

You have either completed or nearly completed a degree in Information or Communication Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. You are looking for your first career step and bring:
