About the Role

Kinexus is seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of our client, a leading international defence industry company. As the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, managing key stakeholder relationships, and driving the company's mission to deliver superior products and services to key clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's strategic plan, including the pursuit of new business opportunities in Australia and overseas, while ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation in its areas of specialisation.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring both divisions achieve their financial, operational, and strategic goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including in the Australian Department of Defence, government agencies, and industry partners.
  • Financial Performance: Drive financial performance through the execution of the strategic sales plan and execution of efficient business operating processes and procedures.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability, and owning responsibility for ASX and Board reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of executive leadership experience, preferably within the defence, aerospace, or technology sectors, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex organisations with multiple divisions, ideally including manufacturing operations.
  • Skills: Strategic thinking with the ability to set and communicate a clear vision for the company, exceptional leadership and team management skills, strong financial acumen, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Defence Studies, or a related field is required, with an MBA being highly desirable.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
