System Administrator Role Overview

The System Administrator role involves ensuring the smooth operation of systems within an IT infrastructure.

This includes performing routine tasks, managing IT requests, and providing guidance to support staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the effective running and administration of systems within the IT infrastructure.
  • Manage IT requests in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Provide advice to support staff on system-related matters.
  • Restore services in the event of an outage and assist in resolving issues.
  • Conduct regular checks on backups and system health.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with IT infrastructure, including backup, hardware, databases, devices, operating systems, directory services, and high-availability.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows (Server and Desktop), Exchange, SQL, and Identity Management in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in maintaining a LAN/WAN in a corporate setting.
  • Experience in maintaining a highly available SAN and Hypervisor environment.
