Leadership Opportunity in Terminal Operations

Aurizon is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the Perth-based intermodal terminal operations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture of safety across all operations, ensuring a safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Provide direction and support to direct reports, fostering a result-driven and customer-focused culture.
  • Coach and advise team members to achieve performance goals, develop potential successors, and influence operational strategies.
  • Oversee financial and operational budgets, resource allocation, on-time performance, and safety.
  • Lead and prioritize scheduled, unscheduled, response, and emergency operations, ensuring seamless terminal operations.
  • Embrace and drive workplace culture and change, providing expert advice and support to teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with managers, teams, customers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
  • Implement strategies to meet or exceed customer requirements, including scheduling, shutdowns, and overhauls.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and company standards, and leverage new innovations to drive growth and improvement.
About You:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Formal qualifications in Logistics, Maintenance, Operations, and/or Management.
  • Extensive knowledge of terminal logistics operations and supply chain management.
  • Substantial experience in leadership and team management within a terminal operations environment.
  • High-level skills in financial and budget control, and operational business management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex and changing business needs.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively with diverse work groups.
  • Insight into how people issues impact business and strategies for creating profit and value.
  • Capability to reach agreements and consensus despite differing goals and priorities.
  • Proficient in computer skills and operational systems.
