Wabtec Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Director to lead our engineering team responsible for hardware and software design, development, and lifecycle maintenance of our Digital Mine product line. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for establishing and executing a long-term technical strategy to meet customer needs and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business leadership team, Product Management, and Commercial teams to establish and execute a long-term technical strategy to meet customer needs and business objectives.
- Design and lead an organization that balances low-cost country support with deep industry/customer interaction to deliver quality solutions at a competitive engineering cost.
- Lead Engineering team to deliver new product and requisition designs on time.
- Assure hardware and software design strategy exploits leading technologies for function, quality, and cost.
- Lead team to address any shop or field issues.
- Develop and strengthen the team's engineering skillsets and ensure high performance.
- Develop engineering budget and operate within budget.
- Develop a pipeline of engineering talent and engineering leadership.
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mining, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience in mining, propulsion system, or equipment design, or related industry.
- Minimum 3 years experience in leading an engineering team.
- Master's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering.
- Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with embedded firmware, controls, hardware, and software.
- Experience in a variety of engineering processes such as application/requisition, field support, factory support, and new product introduction.
- Experience leading and working with global teams.
- 7 or more years of experience in the mining industry.
- Domain knowledge in hard rock and soft rock mining.
- Field experience related to underground mining practices, equipment, propulsion systems, and vehicles.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- PC proficiency.
- Application proficiency for business and project management and control applications.
