About the Role

The position requires a professional with strong management and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with peers and possessing in-depth knowledge of logistics operations.

This individual should be able to make timely decisions, prioritize tasks efficiently, and maintain awareness of cost control measures while fostering innovation within the organization.

Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of operations, ensuring they are conducted in a safe, efficient, and customer-centric manner. This encompasses managing the vehicle fleet, organizing daily work requirements, and directing employees and contractors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain company vehicles to divisional standards, including appearance, roadworthiness, and maintenance schedules.
  • Evaluate and improve operational efficiency by planning daily work requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee Country Agents: Establish formal agreements, optimize operating costs, implement scanning procedures, ensure dangerous goods and security compliance.
  • Direct, motivate, and lead employees and contractors towards achieving operational goals.
  • Ensure team members adhere to company uniform and appearance standards.
  • Instruct drivers on loading procedures and safety protocols.
  • Monitor missed pickups and scanning performance.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years' experience in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and transportation management.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Service-oriented mindset and understanding of linehaul equipment.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and task management abilities.
  • Awareness of effective cost control strategies.
  • Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and service issues.
  • Understanding of WH&S policies and legislative requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with TGE Express Parcel systems.
