Truck Lot Technician

As a Lot Porter, you will be responsible for ensuring that our used truck center is running smoothly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have excellent mechanical skills, as well as the ability to work in an outdoor environment. This role requires a high level of physical fitness, as you will be lifting and moving equipment regularly.

In this role, you will be responsible for exercising trucks/tractors to ensure they are roadworthy and ready for sale. You will also need to guarantee that customer units are ready for delivery or transport from the UTC without issues.

You will work closely with local Ryder shops or 3rd party service providers to coordinate repairs and maintenance. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping the yard organized and presentable, including transporting equipment and performing light mechanical work such as jump starts, battery installation, and fluid management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1+ Years Mechanical and/or Customer Service Experience Required
  • Knowledge of Truck and Trailer Equipment Advanced Required
  • Valid Driver's License and Ability to Meet Ryder's Driving Qualifications
  • CDL Preferred or Ability to Obtain CDL
  • Ability to Work in an Outdoor Environment/Elements
  • Customer Focus and Support
  • Solid Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to Work Independently and as a Member of a Team
  • Organized and Capable of Multi-Tasking
  • Light Computer Skills – Tablet for Checking/Inspecting Units - Email
