Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Cleveland, Ohio.

Responsibilities
  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools when applicable
  • Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replaces defective components as instructed and works unsupervised on most tasks
  • Performs facility maintenance duties and interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint
  • Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Complies with all safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines
  • Mentors Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and accesses internal/external maintenance documents
  • Supports operations with other duties as required (Service Island, etc.)
  • Completed OEM online diagnostic tool courses as required by location fleet mix
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational/Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
    • Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
    • Basic diagnostics and repairs including AC and electrical systems
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
  • All other location-specific certifications as required
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment
  • Knowledge of PC/Windows-based applications
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor vehicle checks for the last 3 years

  • Hourly pay: $29.50 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 per quarter
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
