About the Role

The Teacher reports to the Head of Campus and Principal. He/she has delegated responsibility to develop and maintain learning and social inclusion responses of the campus. This includes:

  • Developing effective learning and teaching programs for young people;
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of school objectives and planning;
  • Maintaining a supportive school environment.

The role requires an individual who can provide high-quality education and support to students with diverse needs and backgrounds. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary) or similar and registration with the state teaching authority;
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing a range of learning choices which meet the diverse needs and learning styles of young people supporting positive educational and social outcomes;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills in the context of relating to work colleagues, young people, and parents in a cross-cultural environment. In particular, demonstrated success in building relationships with young people at risk;
  • Ability to work autonomously and in an integrated manner as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Commitment to participate in critical reflection around working together under principles of respect, honesty and participation as a means to resolve difference, negotiate learning, recognise rights, responsibilities, and consequences;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working within relevant education requirements, accountabilities, and processes;
  • Current driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Attributes

The following qualifications and attributes are desirable but not essential:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment;
  • Trauma Informed Training;
  • Previous experience working in flexible learning environments;
  • Relevant short courses and applied subjects;
  • Trauma Transformative Practise;
  • Enterprise Learning or Universal Design of Learning.
