Trust Investigator Role

This is a challenging role that requires a high level of integrity, independence and analytical skills. As a Trust Investigator, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, leading and reporting on complex investigations into suspected breaches of the Uniform Law.

You will identify and gather evidence in accordance with evidentiary practice and legislated requirements. Your research and analysis will inform recommendations on compliance strategies, policies and operational processes.

You may represent the organisation and give evidence at hearings as needed. You will also engage with stakeholders to develop effective working relationships and manage complex investigations.

Maintaining your knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities and mentoring is essential for this role.

Travel may be required, including interstate and remote area travel.

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting or business.
  • Current membership with Chartered Accountants ANZ and/or CPA Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interpreting financial accounting practices and procedures, including accounting systems, auditing standards and accounting standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and financial analytical skills, preferably in an investigative or law enforcement environment.
  • Working knowledge of the law and the rules of evidence is highly desirable.
  • Well-developed written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, occupation and seniority.
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone and be self-reliant.
  • Lead strategically – Think critically and act on the broader purpose into the broader context.
