
Senior Investigator and Compliance Specialist

The Investigation and Compliance Specialist leads and mentors a team of investigators undertaking a range of investigations and compliance activities. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate previous experience in dealing with complex and sensitive investigations, as well as the ability to research and interpret policy and legislation.
As a member of the Investigations Unit, you will collaborate with other members of the team and supervise and monitor performance of Investigators in the team ensuring the team meets group goals and guarantees of service. The position provides expert advice on legislative matters, to Investigators and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and investigations, in an efficient and effective manner and in accordance with the legislative requirements, available methodologies and departmental guidelines.
- Providing expert advice on legislative matters to Investigators and senior management.
- Supervising and monitoring performance of Investigators in the team.
- Collaborating with other members of the team to achieve group goals and guarantees of service.
Requirements:
- Expertise in undertaking complex investigations.
- Thorough knowledge of best practice investigation policies and procedures, the rules of evidence, preparation of briefs of evidence, and court processes.
- High level analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team.
Essential Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent experience/willingness to obtain through employer-sponsored program).
- Strong understanding of investigative processes, rules of evidence, and brief preparation.
- Current NSW driver's licence & willingness to travel when required.
- Experience in people management.
Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $125,693 base plus superannuation.
