Academic Sessional Occupational Therapist

The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Sessional to join our team in the School of Health Sciences. As an Academic Sessional, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct lectures, theoretical tutorials, and/or workshops in consultation with the Discipline Lead, preparing lesson plans and facilitating group discussions.
- Consult with students on readings, weekly topics, and assessment, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
- Mark and provide feedback on assessment activities, ensuring timely and accurate feedback to students.
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator, contributing to the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies.
- Manage short-term extension requests in line with University policy, ensuring fairness and consistency in decision-making.
- Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of work and conduct, upholding the University's values and standards.
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, with postgraduate qualifications in occupational therapy or education desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of current scholarship and professional practice in occupational therapy, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a teaching and learning context.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Knowledge of and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures, including work health and safety, equity, diversity, and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
- Ability to deliver high-quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathy with students.
- Proven ability to assess priorities, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
- Previous experience working in the tertiary education sector is desirable.
