About This Role:

The Compliance Support Specialist is a newly created opportunity in our Market and Compliance team based at Perth Central Park office.

This role plays a critical part in supporting compliance and operational activities across large-scale renewable and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) portfolio.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies, you will help develop and enhance compliance frameworks, commercial systems, and reporting processes.

The role includes investigating non-compliance incidents, interpreting regulatory frameworks, validating data and models, and contributing to risk mitigation efforts.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and enhancing regulatory compliance and commercial systems through data collection, analysis, and asset-level updates.
  • Supporting investigations into potential or actual non-compliance incidents, interpreting regulatory frameworks, and reporting outcomes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to guide stakeholders on compliance responsibilities and build alignment across the business.
  • Validating portfolio models to ensure consistency with asset mission statements.
  • Developing and updating compliance procedures, training teams, and monitoring effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Economics, Finance, Accounting), Law, Legal Studies, or Engineering with an energy specialisation.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment, preferably in the electricity industry. Knowledge of Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) and/or other statutory requirements highly regarded.
  • Strong research, analytical, and compliance capability, including sourcing evidence, interpreting regulations, and delivering insights.
  • Confidence using data analysis tools like Excel, Power BI, VBA, and Python to support decision-making and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, collaborating effectively and managing priorities in a dynamic environment.
