We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our team at Suncorp Group. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in contributing to the execution of our Commercial Portfolio Strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Underwriting and Risk Assessment: Underwrite new and renewal business within the scope of individual Delegated Underwriting Authority to achieve the strategic and financial goals of the Commercial Portfolio strategy.
- Renewal Reviews: Conduct renewal reviews to ensure business is re-underwritten in alignment with current underwriting, selection and pricing guidelines and implement corrective or remedial actions when appropriate.
- New Business Underwriting: Underwrite new business in alignment with current underwriting, selection and pricing guidelines.
- Policy Performance Monitoring: Monitor ongoing policy performance to identify opportunities for remedial or corrective underwriting.
- Underwriting Process Compliance: Underwrite using approved tools and in complete alignment with agreed underwriting processes and guidelines.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of product underwriting experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to influence in the commercial Broker and Adviser insurance market to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Risk Assessment: Ability to determine referral or escalation of risks outside of appetite.
- Insurance Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant General Insurance practices and policies.
- Product Knowledge: Good understanding of relevant Insurance products, industry, market environment, reinsurance structures, and customer segment.
