Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Insurance and Health department. As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our team of lawyers, including file management, client communication, and preparation of legal documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- File management – opening and closing files, and filing and e-filing documents
- Adhering to client service standards
- Preparation of correspondence and legal documents in consultation with lawyers
- Broad range of client communication and management
- Preparation of briefs
- Monthly billing and reporting
- General diary management, including arranging client appointments and other events
- General administrative support
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Legal experience
- Previous experience in defendant insurance litigation
- Experience using precedent, billing, and file management programs
- An enthusiastic and proactive approach to work
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to build strong internal relationships
