Bring Joy to Others as a Social Visitor

Prairiewood, Australia is home to a unique opportunity for individuals who wish to make a positive impact in the lives of others. As a social visitor, you will have the chance to bring joy and companionship to those in need.

The role involves visiting patients at Braeside Hospital, where you will engage with them through conversation, play games, or simply sit with them. Your presence can help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation, improving the overall quality of life for these individuals.

To be eligible for this role, applicants must be aged 18 years or over. HammondCare will organise and pay for a national police check, ensuring that all volunteers undergo thorough screening before being accepted into the program.

Volunteers are required to commit to either a DAY ROLE (Monday, Wednesday or Sunday, 12pm-1pm) or an AFTERNOON ROLE (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, 4-5pm). This flexibility allows volunteers to choose a schedule that suits their needs, while also providing opportunities for consistent interaction with patients.
