About This Opportunity
  • The position involves teaching, research, supervision, and academic service with a focus on Classical Languages (Greek and Latin) and Greco-Roman literature.
  • You will play a key role in shaping curriculum, coordinating courses, and delivering high-quality teaching across the Greek, Latin, and Ancient History majors.

Key responsibilities include:

Teaching and Curriculum Development:
  • Develop and deliver engaging courses, design curricula, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counseling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
Research and Scholarship:
  • Establish a research program, collaborate on projects, seek and manage funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
Supervision and Professional Development:
  • Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
Citizenship and Service:
  • Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold institutional values.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check.
