Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex databases to ensure optimal performance and security.

Job Description:
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Develop and implement data recovery mechanisms and procedures for both IMS and DB2 components.
  • Coordinate security measures to safeguard IMS and DB2 database integrity.
  • Lead DB2 z/OS projects and initiatives, working together with experienced DB2 z/OS and IMS DBAs.
  • Work closely with IMS and DB2 z/OS System Programmers on IMS and DB2 z/OS systems and tools upgrades.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IMS and DB2 database administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of IBM IMS and DB2 database management utilities.
  • Experience with BMC COPE and IBM tools for IMS and DB2.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles, including entity relationship modeling and normalization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
