Strategic Risk Manager

We are seeking a proactive risk management professional to strengthen enterprise risk practices by partnering with faculties and central portfolios to support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across the institution.
- Work collaboratively with faculty and central portfolio leaders to identify, assess, and manage strategic and operational risks, ensuring alignment with the institution's risk management framework and appetite.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management policies, tools, and processes, ensuring consistent application across assigned areas and contributing to institutional risk maturity.
Risk Management Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy that aligns with the institution's goals and objectives. This includes identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with various aspects of the institution, such as financial, operational, and reputational risks.
Risk Register Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk registers, including tracking and analyzing trends and emerging risks. Provide regular reports and dashboards to senior leadership and governance committees on risk exposures and mitigation efforts.
Risk Culture Development: Foster a positive risk culture within the institution by developing and delivering training programs, workshops, and guidance materials. Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure integrated and proactive risk management approaches.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have relevant qualification and extensive experience in risk management, compliance, or related fields. They must be able to provide high-level advice on the identification, assessment, and mitigation of institutional and reputational risks.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex situations and design practical solutions.
- Proven experience in gaining consensus and commitment from stakeholders, negotiating effectively, and resolving conflicts or issues in a manner that aligns with organisational goals.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, and policy documents for executive leadership and governance bodies.
