Hazardous Materials Support Specialist

The role of this position is multifaceted, encompassing both administrative and technical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide high-level customer service to internal and external customers relating to inspection, status, and education/training on hazardous materials management.
  2. Coordinate council services, including invoicing and contract management.
  3. Assist in project management of hazardous material removal works, training programs, long-term strategies, and commercial activities related to hazardous materials management.
  4. Liaise with agencies for council response to illegally dumped material throughout the local government area.
Working Relationships:
  • Reports to: Program Leader Hazardous Materials.
  • Mentors staff on administrative processes and protocols.
  • Key Internal Relationships: Trades Coordinator, Property and Commercial Services, Chief Safety Officer, Customer Service Team, Natural Areas Team.
  • Key External Relationships: Government agencies, residents/ratepayers, contractors, sporting groups, community groups, commercial tenants.
