EDP has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Hygiene Consultant / Laboratory Technician to join our team in Sydney Australia.

The role would suit someone who has a good understanding of recognised best practices, risk management techniques and management principles, supported by a thorough appreciation of health and safety within the professional services sector along with experience in the analysis of asbestos and other hazardous materials within a NATA accredited or similar laboratory.

Key responsibilities include:

  • NATA accredited analysis of asbestos-containing materials and air samples;
  • Undertaking asbestos/hazardous materials audits and sampling;
  • Conducting a full range of compliance air monitoring for friable and non-friable asbestos works and visual inspections during Asbestos/Hazmat remediation projects;
  • Maintaining existing client relationships to expand regional business opportunities and services via proactive consultancy;
  • Preparing accurate reports in standard formats;
  • Maintaining and building good relationships with clients.

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Tertiary Qualification in science, environment or engineering;
  • Asbestos Assessors License;
  • Relevant training courses;
  • Certificated Occupational Hygienist is desirable;
  • 2+ years of related work within the field of hazardous materials, occupational hygiene and property risk compliance;
  • 2+ years of experience within a NATA accredited laboratory
