About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Protection Case Manager to join our team at The Benevolent Society. As a key member of our Family Preservation Program, you will play a critical role in supporting families at risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and support families with regular in-home support services to strengthen family relationships and promote a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Conduct initial assessments of family strengths and needs, and develop case plans that build on the family's resilience to achieve lasting change.
  • Partner with other services to provide holistic support to families, using evidence-informed practices and a strengths-based approach.
  • Tailor your support to meet the unique needs of each family, using a flexible and adaptable approach.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a similar field.
  • Experience in case management in child protection, with a strong understanding of the statutory child protection system.
  • A current driver's license and the ability to travel to meet with families.
  • A holistic strengths-based approach to achieve lasting change, with a focus on building on family strengths and resilience.
  • The capacity to engage with people from diverse backgrounds, including the local Aboriginal community.
