**Job Title:** Senior Legislative Assembly Clerk

About the Role:

The Legislative Assembly of Victoria is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Assistant Clerk Committees. As a senior member of the Department's leadership team, you will contribute to a positive departmental culture and work across the three parliamentary departments to achieve shared objectives.

The role involves working in the Chamber and providing procedural advice to support the sittings of the Legislative Assembly. Key responsibilities include providing detailed advice to the Speaker and the Clerk on a range of issues, as well as procedural advice to Chairs and members, and procedural and administrative advice to committee secretariats.

You will oversee committee secretariats comprising approximately 25 people through six direct reports. The position rotates with the Assistant Clerk Procedure & Serjeant-at-Arms role usually once every term of parliament.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide procedural advice to support the sittings of the Legislative Assembly
  • Advise the Speaker and the Clerk on various issues
  • Offer procedural advice to Chairs and members
  • Provide procedural and administrative advice to committee secretariats
