Job Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Research Associate at the Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute.

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Research Associate.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting health service process maps, semi-structured interviews, and/or focus group discussions among PALM workers, employers, and health workers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct qualitative research with PALM workers and other stakeholders.
  • Analyse data using suitable qualitative software in liaison with the investigator team.
  • Contribute to drafting of project reports and manuscripts for publication.
  • Help project investigators prepare presentation of findings to the NSW Ministry of Health and other stakeholders.
  • Work within a team and support other team members.
Requirements:
  • PhD in infectious diseases/sexual and reproductive health/public health/related field desirable.
  • Sound experience in qualitative research methods, including framework analysis.
  • Pasifika background and/or experience conducting qualitative research with Pacific Island communities highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Peer-reviewed scientific publications including qualitative research.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
