Business Risk & Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Business Risk & Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Line 1 Risk activities, providing direct support to the Line 1 Risk Manager on a range of risk compliance, controls, and assurance activities.

This is a permanent full-time role that fosters internal and external partner services to identify risk profiles and responses, establishing, testing, and reporting on controls and continual improvement of customer outcomes.

The successful candidate will have recent experience in a similar role, developing and embedding strong Risk & Control programs and strategies, as well as excellent stakeholder engagement skills to develop and maintain strong partnerships across an organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust strategies to support the business in the identification and management of risks and controls;
  • Support the development, implementation and response to risk profiles for IfNSW and HBCF schemes;
  • Provide risk, compliance, control, incident, and issue management advice to the IfNSW and HBCF schemes and management including facilitation of workshops, presentations, and leadership of relevant governance forums;
  • Support development and implementation of the controls schedule, which details monthly planned testing and reporting of controls, and develop action plans to address any deficiencies;
  • Oversee and maintain the quality and integrity of risk information in the business risk system.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a similar role, developing and embedding strong Risk & Control programs and strategies, as well as excellent stakeholder engagement skills to develop and maintain strong partnerships across an organisation.

They will also possess a well-developed understanding of business risk, mitigation, and assurance strategies gained through practical hands-on experience.
