Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Event Manager to lead our diverse portfolio of mass participation and community-focused events.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who inspires and supports others, while being hands-on and taking ownership of every aspect of event delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional events that bring people together.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of all events.
  • Manage the on-day event coordination, including event setup, signage, logistics, volunteer coordination and pack down.
  • Manage third-party event logistic providers and contractors.
  • Create and manage event documentation, such as risk management and emergency management plans.
  • Manage required approvals for events, including Council, Local Police and State Police (Traffic) and Main Roads.
  • Manage Traffic Management Plans for all events.
  • Manage timelines and key milestones for events.
  • Set up event registration systems and lead rider pack collections.
  • Execute and source sponsorship opportunities.
  • Work closely with the communications team to coordinate event marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure all event personnel, including contractors and volunteers, hold valid Working With Children Checks where required.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Possess relevant qualifications in event management or have equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong capability in managing both mass participation and community-focused events.
  • Experience in managing and forecasting budgets, with ability to optimise resources and track financial performance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
  • Skills in handling unexpected challenges and emergencies during events, with proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with event management software and tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Understanding of industry trends, challenges and opportunities.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, social media management, and content creation to effectively promote events and engage with diverse audiences.
  • Experience developing sponsorship packages and securing sponsorships.
