About the Opportunity

EBR is seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Advisor to provide expertise in maintaining an effective risk management process across all project/business division activities. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of a detailed safety management plan, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety management plan that aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues raised by operational management and staff, implementing proactive controls to manage risks.
  • Support the creation and development of safety reports, documentation, and other materials for the project/business division.
  • Undertake review processes and practices to ensure good governance and effective systems are in place for managing key business risks.
  • Provide technical advice on rail safety, heavy vehicle national law, and health & safety issues, participating in safety audits and compliance with regulations.
  • Support site investigations, identifying contributing factors to failures and incidents, and develop corrective actions to resolve these.
  • Develop initiatives, programs, and processes that result in best practice outcomes in health and safety, exceeding compliance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in health and safety or extensive relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in safety management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Work Health and Safety Legislation and Codes of Practice.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and achieving results within strict time constraints.

The estimated salary range for this position is AU$80,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. If you possess the required skills and qualifications, please submit your application to take on this challenging role.
