Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Service: Provide warm and welcoming service to all guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the cafe area, including tables, equipment, and surroundings.
  • Food and Beverage Knowledge: Demonstrate expertise in espresso-based coffee and other beverages, explaining menu options to guests and making recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Team Collaboration: Liaise closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery and meet guest requests.
  • Upselling and Maximising Sales: Identify opportunities to upsell items and maximise sales, while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with guests and colleagues.
  • Rotating Roster: Be available to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
  • Barista Experience: Hold previous barista experience, with knowledge of espresso-based coffee and other beverages.
  • Grooming and Presentation: Maintain a high standard of grooming and presentation, adhering to the hotel's uniform and grooming standards.
  • RSA Certificate: Possess a valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) Certificate.
