About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our Coopers Plains site in QLD. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for delivering reliable, efficient, and safe maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver routine and preventative maintenance activities to ensure production schedules and goals are achieved.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure production schedules and goals are achieved.
  • Respond to breakdown situations to repair plant equipment as requested by the relevant Manager/Supervisor.
  • Prioritize work requests entered in the MEX system.
  • Record use and stock of critical machine and process parts.
  • Maintain all registers, logs, and systems to track repairs, notifications, and work activities.
  • Liaise with supervisors and machine operators about equipment performance.
  • Develop and maintain close and collaborative working relationships across the Production, Planning, Toolroom, and Engineering teams.
  • Work to pre-determined and measurable KPIs.
Requirements:
  • Trade certification in mechanical fitting or related trade.
  • Licenses: forklift, EWP, confined spaces.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience or equivalent in manufacturing maintenance and/or similar industry.
  • Advanced understanding of hydraulic and pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of extrusion, water process plant, and associated equipment.
  • Welding competence (Mig/Tig/Arc).
  • Strong understanding of safety and environmental practices with a commitment to best practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in MEX or similar based CMMS.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment issues safely and promptly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
