About the Role

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Senior Community Relations and Stakeholder Advisor to join our Transport for Tomorrow team on our Rail Infrastructure Upgrades project.

This role involves working closely with the delivery team to understand the construction program, identify potential stakeholder and community impacts, and work to mitigate these as much as possible.

The ideal candidate will possess recognised and appropriate communications and community engagement qualifications and/or active industry experience, with at least three years of hands-on communications/community engagement experience during the delivery phase of major infrastructure projects.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Community Relations and Stakeholder Manager in communications and stakeholder relations (C&SR), budget preparation, and engagement planning
  • Build trusted relationships with community members and stakeholders, understand their needs and expectations, identify and work to minimise project impacts on them as much as possible, and ensure they receive useful, accurate, timely, and engaging project communications materials
  • Day-to-day management of stakeholder and community issues, ensuring these are resolved and closed out within agreed timeframes or escalated as appropriate
Key Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Recognised and appropriate communications and community engagement qualifications and/or active industry experience
  • At least three years of hands-on communications/community engagement experience during the delivery phase of major infrastructure projects
