Job Title: Patient Services Manager - Oncology PracticeWe are seeking an experienced Patient Services Manager to join our team at our Buderim-Sunshine Coast clinic. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday – Friday, with occasional evening work to 7pm.
Job SummaryThe Patient Services Manager will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership of the patient services team and patient accounts, ensuring the team is motivated, engaged, and on track to deliver patient-centric services within our Oncology practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesSome of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Leadership and Management: Provide direction, supervision, support, and recognition of staff activities, promoting collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork through effective leadership and management strategies.
- Change Management: Provide support, initiate, and drive change strategies across the practice through the provision of data and leadership, which supports both the vision and ethos of GenesisCare and the development of patient-focused change strategies, programs, and initiatives.
- Patient Services: Be a champion for high-level patient services by meeting patient needs, maintaining patient service levels, and monitoring and reacting to patient feedback.
- Patient Registration and Billing: Have a clear understanding of patient registration and billing systems, including Medicare, and the related billing processes. Assist with the patient accounts function as required and during periods of leave.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting and supporting initiatives designed to improve clerical staff engagement.
- Performance Management: Display a strong commitment to developing others through implementing effective performance management and development processes, providing staff with ongoing feedback and performance coaching.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in Team Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team.
- Customer Service: Ability to provide excellent customer service in a healthcare environment.
- Medical Administration: Strong experience in medical administration and reception management.
- Management and Communication: Great management and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with and effectively influence staff and patients.
- Leadership: Demonstrated understanding of and ability to provide excellent leadership in line with the organisation's values.
- Collaboration and Flexibility: Collaborative and flexible approach to delivering exceptional patient-centered services.
- Continuous Improvement: Willingness and ability to proactively implement continuous improvement and change initiatives.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to effectively and collaboratively solve problems as they arise.
- Medical Accounts Processing: High-level medical accounts processing skills, including knowledge of Medicare, DVA, and private health funds.
- Clinical Administration Systems: Ability to use clinical administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office software for data analysis and reporting purposes.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
