Role Overview

The Australian Museum is seeking a dedicated Fundraising Specialist to steward a portfolio of donors and secure gifts.

  • This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to proactively manage relationships with donors.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in a fundraising or customer service role, great organisational skills, be enthusiastic, results-focussed, and a self-starter.

  • They will have excellent writing skills, including the ability to draft donor communications, and exemplary interpersonal skills, including effective listening, empathy, and discretion.

The successful applicant will be able to build and sustain relationships, demonstrate a growth and learning mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude, and have computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite products and previous use of CRM systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Broadening the donor base through proactive relationship-building and networking.
  • Soliciting gifts of $10K+ from existing donors.
  • Developing a bequest strategy and pipeline of intenders.
