Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to support the growth of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workforce in Canberra.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce Lead to escalate systemic issues and embed Community-informed health workforce priorities.

This role is an opportunity to be part of a values-led team committed to health workforce reform, working with people who share your passion for making a positive impact on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the newly established role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce Lead within the ACT Office.
  • Provide insight and secretariat support to projects associated with the finalisation and implementation of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce Action Plan.
  • Build, develop and sustain relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, including the health workforce, health leadership, the Aboriginal Community Controlled Sector, education providers and Communities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop and sustain relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders.
  • Health related qualifications and/or experience across health-related sectors, including the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector (preferred but not essential).
