**Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health & Community Services LTD.**
**Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service is a community-controlled health service providing holistic health care to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of the ACT and surrounding areas. The Service manages approximately 30 programs through various funding agreements and employs more than 80 staff offering salary sacrifice pursuant to tax office regulations and organisational policy. We are looking for highly motivated and experienced people for several positions.**
**Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid (ATSIMHFA) Trainer**
**We are seeking a part time ATSIMHFA Trainer to work for Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service on a fixed term contract. The role of the Officer is to deliver non-accredited ATSIMHFA training, certified by Mental Health First Aid Australia (MHFAA) and improve awareness and access to ATSIMHFA in a culturally appropriate manner.**
**The successful applicant should either be certified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander MHFA Instructor with MHFAA, or ability to undertake and complete ATSIMHFA Train-the-Trainer Course and requirements of certification through MHFAA. A strong commitment to support delivery of onboarding to community-controlled suicide prevention networks and work with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) in a collaborative manner. The trainer must be able to understand community needs and participate in the relevant community of practice, report training to MHFAA as required, participate in evaluation and monitoring activities in collaboration with NACCHO and ACCHOs, ensuring appropriate data collection.**
**The successful applicant should have current First Aid certificate, excellent written and oral communication, and customer service skills. They should also be able to work independently, determine priorities, work in teams, and manage workloads to achieve results, demonstrate understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks and the capacity to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.**
**WORKING WITH VULNERALBLE PEOPLE CHECK (WWVPC)**:
- All people employed at Winnunga are required to provide their WWVPC registration, or to carry out a WWVPC pursuant to the **_Working With Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 _**(ACT).**
