AOD Family Reunification Specialist Role
This role is focused on reducing Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)-related harm through assessments, counseling, and tailored care and recovery interventions for individuals required to undergo treatment as part of their reunification plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support parents involved in child family reunification with AOD-related issues
- Develop and implement assessments, counseling, and care plans to reduce AOD-related harm
- Provide therapeutic approaches such as Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Coping Skills Training, Family Inclusive Practice, self-help groups, and Community Reinforcement Approaches
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Health or Welfare related discipline
- Certificate IV in AOD or completion of core competencies within 24 months of employment
- Competencies in dual diagnosis or willingness to complete within 24 months
