Dalby is home to an esteemed agricultural enterprise specializing in cattle production. With over 50 years of operation, this business has experienced significant growth and expansion, solidifying its position as a major supplier of grain-fed cattle to the region.


The Role:

This unique opportunity involves leading all aspects of the finance function, from transactional processes to strategic financial leadership. Given the lean structure of the organization, you will be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks, including working with your accounting team on fundamental tasks, cash flow management, and advising Directors on key financial decisions.

  • Developing and executing financial plans to support growth objectives;
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling initiatives;
  • Overseeing reporting, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports;
  • Identifying areas of improvement, risk, and opportunity;
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and streamlining processes for efficiency; and
  • Leading and mentoring the finance team while collaborating with auditors, external advisors, and key stakeholders.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will be CA or CPA qualified with substantial experience in commercial accounting. We would also consider applicants with extensive experience in public accounting looking to transition into management accounting. A background or interest in the livestock sector is highly regarded, given the role's focus on monitoring industry trends and advising Directors on business performance, profitability, and growth opportunities.
