Job Opportunity for Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our care team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients, providing personalized support and enabling them to live their best lives.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will work closely with our clients who require assistance with daily living activities (ADLs) and clinical support. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care, including personal cares, pressure area care, enteral feeding, medication administration, bowel care support, catheter management, dysphagia management, non-invasive ventilation management, meal preparation, and community participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Cares: Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility needs.
  • Pressure Area Care and Skin Integrity Support: Provide regular skin checks and apply protective measures to prevent pressure sores.
  • Enteral Feeding: Administer nutrition and fluids through tube feeding.
  • Suctioning: Clear airways and maintain respiratory health.
  • Medication Administration: Follow safe practices to administer medications as prescribed.
  • Bowel Care Support: Assist clients with bowel movements and maintain continence.
  • Catheter Management: Change catheters, monitor urine output, and maintain bladder health.
  • Understanding & Management of Dysphagia: Assess and manage swallowing difficulties.
  • Non-Invasive Ventilation Management: Monitor and adjust ventilation settings as required.
  • Meal Preparation, Feeding Assistance and Management at Mealtimes: Ensure clients receive nutritious meals and assistance with eating.
  • Supporting in Pain Management: Help clients manage pain and discomfort.
  • Manual Handling Including Repositioning & Transfers: Safely move clients to prevent injury or strain.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support or above (Relevant care certificates may also be considered).
  • Specific Disability / Complex Care Experience (Minimum 2 years experience).
  • Manual Handling Certificate and experience (Essential).
  • Medication Administration Certificate.
  • Current First aid and CPR certification.
  • Yellow Card/NDIS Worker's Screening Check.
  • NDIS Orientation Module.
  • Working with Children Check.
