Accounts Payable/Receivable Finance Specialist

This is a fixed-term full-time opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Finance Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process creditor invoices efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely payment and continuous improvement in processes across the finance team.
  • Receive, verify, and code invoices for payment in CASES21, ensuring adherence to Department's Finance policies and procedures.
  • Collate and enter orders and invoices onto CASES21 following the procurement process.
  • Ensure invoices are supported by an approved purchase order and coded to an appropriate account.
Additional Duties:
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Assist with creditor queries and liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding invoice and payment inquiries.
  • Manage and troubleshoot the accounts payable system.
  • Filing and archiving of invoices and payment documentation as per audit requirements.
Requirements:
  • High level organisational skills, including the capacity to prioritise workflows.
  • Strong ICT capabilities and technical knowledge relevant to the position.
  • Experience with database management and filing systems (electronic and paper-based).

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. They will also be familiar with financial management records systems and have experience with database management and filing systems.

This role supports the educational services being provided to students and must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
