Job Description:

The role involves overseeing the growth and development of a community garden as a standalone program and resource. This position aims to utilize permaculture methods in line with organizational values.

This is a part-time position requiring 17 hours of work per week, based in Bendigo, VIC. The position adheres to the SCHADS Award Level 4 salary and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors for gardening services and maintenance.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction with services and maintenance of income sources.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate a cohesive workplace environment.
  • Support the Volunteer Coordinator as required.
  • Process purchases in accordance with policies, procedures, and budget to maintain stocks and supplies.
  • Oversee maintenance of gardening equipment, ensuring it remains operational and safe to use.
Requirements:

Applicants should have experience in program planning, coordination, and associated administration. They must also possess skills in supervising and developing volunteer leaders.

Required qualifications include knowledge of edible plant production, organic gardening techniques, and integrated permaculture systems. A current driver's license and Working with Children Check are also mandatory.
