We are currently seeking a highly skilled Shift Test Engineer to join our team in Stirling, Western Australia or Canberra, ACT. This is a challenging opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant contribution to the success of our organization.
Job OverviewThis role will involve conducting and overseeing testing operations in a nuclear facility, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards while troubleshooting issues and maintaining system integrity during shift operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting and overseeing tests related to nuclear systems, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues in coordination with engineering and operations teams.
- Maintaining adherence to all nuclear safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Evaluating test results, documenting findings, and providing technical recommendations for process improvements.
- Overseeing the performance of testing equipment and instrumentation, ensuring proper functionality.
- Working closely with engineering teams, operators, and regulatory personnel to ensure smooth testing operations.
- Preparing detailed technical reports and documentation of testing procedures and results.
- Assisting in training new engineers and technicians on testing protocols and safety standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 7 years relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in testing, troubleshooting, or commissioning within a nuclear facility or a highly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear power systems, test engineering principles, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in data acquisition, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical data.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant nuclear industry certifications (such as NQA-1 or NRC qualifications).
- Experience with nuclear reactors, radiation monitoring systems, fluid dynamics, and thermal hydraulics.
