South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to join our innovative team, providing comprehensive care to individuals affected by alcohol and other drug use.

  • Job Summary:
  • We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate nurse to work across acute and primary care settings, supporting client engagement, care planning, and harm reduction treatment.

About the Role:

  1. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and supportive environment that prioritizes cultural safety, respect, and compassion in delivering person-centred care.
  2. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Aboriginal Health Workers, Counsellors, Social Worker, and an Aboriginal Program Coordinator.
  3. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will have the autonomy to develop and implement holistic care plans tailored to each individual's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, culturally responsive care to clients with complex needs, incorporating trauma-informed approaches and comprehensive care planning.
  • Work effectively with clients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Collaborate with the Aboriginal Drug Health Team to develop and implement culturally safe interventions, recognizing the importance of connection to culture, community, and country.

Requirements:

  • A current nursing registration and a relevant clinical background, preferably in drug and alcohol or mental health.
  • Strong understanding of cultural safety principles and commitment to working respectfully with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, promoting effective communication and problem-solving skills.
