Job Opportunity: API and Integration Support Lead

The opportunity:

This is an exciting chance to lead a team of experts in API and integration support, working with a federal government agency.

  • Location options include Richmond or Geelong, with the flexibility to work from home
  • Initial contract duration of 12 months, with a possible extension
  • Only open to Australian Citizens, due to security clearance requirements

The role:

As an API and Integration Support Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with digital partners to assist with API registration and subscription processes
  • Maintaining and configuring MuleSoft and IBM API Connect APIs and applications
  • Developing and maintaining documentation on support processes, policies, and configuration
  • Managing a small team, including work allocation, review, and guidance
  • Utilizing strong communication and stakeholder management skills to deal with external customer partners and internal business staff
  • Troubleshooting issues with MuleSoft and IBM API Connect, and collaborating with external vendors to resolve them
  • Becoming familiar with token-based authentication systems to assist partners with authentication problems
  • Working closely with technical teams to investigate and resolve complex incidents
  • Undertaking testing of APIs and environments as required
  • Monitoring and reporting on end-to-end API health, performance, and statistics
  • Collating, analyzing, and producing customized reports and dashboards as needed
  • Raising support tickets with external vendors and following through to resolution
  • Applying best practice ITIL methodology for incident management and service requests
  • Exhibiting a strong understanding of API and integration technologies, with the ability to quickly adapt to new products and complex environments

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years' experience working with APIs and/or integration, preferably in a support/operation role
  • Demonstrated experience managing and guiding a small team to achieve outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to manage competing stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining documentation on support processes, policies, and configuration
  • Any exposure to CRM systems is beneficial
  • Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design and development
