Job Overview

Family wellbeing officers play a vital role in enhancing the capacity of families to keep their children safely at home.

Position Description:

The primary objective of this position is to manage a caseload of families and deliver interventions in accordance with approved case management protocols.

This will involve working with families who are subject to ongoing intervention by Child Safety Services or require early intervention responses that prevent children from entering the statutory child protection system.

  • Provide support and culturally appropriate intervention strategies to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families
  • Undertake assessments and interventions in accordance with approved case management protocols
  • Monitor and review agreed case plan goals and responsibilities with clients
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and provide support to achieve case plan goals
  • Implement regular case review conferences, case evaluation and client exit strategies
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with service providers to enable shared case management, referral pathways and ongoing support for clients after exiting the Service
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Intervention

Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and develop individualized case plans to ensure effective delivery of interventions.

Deliver evidence-based interventions and programs designed to promote family stability and well-being.

Case Management

Manage a caseload of families and coordinate services to meet their unique needs.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure successful case outcomes.

Client Support

Provide emotional support and guidance to clients navigating complex social and cultural issues.

Connect clients with community resources and services to promote self-sufficiency and independence.
