School Counsellor Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Counsellor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional counselling and psychological assessment services to students, teachers, and families.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

About the Role:

  • Provide confidential and professional counselling services to students, addressing issues related to academic performance, emotional wellbeing, and social relationships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students' mental health and wellbeing, working closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and address systemic barriers that may impact student learning and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Provisional registration as a teacher with the relevant state authority.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
