Student Matters Coordinator Opportunity

This role involves providing pastoral care and overseeing student support, addressing factors impacting academic progress. You will act as the key liaison between medical students and the School of Medicine to achieve optimal financial, social, and cultural outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide pastoral care and oversee student support, addressing factors impacting academic progress; triage and refer to support services as appropriate.
  2. Facilitate effective liaison between students and the School, including student associations; facilitate access to Student Services and academic support.
  3. Advise on student issues, including transfers, extended leave, welfare, progress, disciplinary matters, and maintaining confidential records.
  4. Liaise with educational academics regarding student welfare matters.
  5. Work with Student Matters Coordinators across campuses to provide support.
  6. Participate in National selection processes.
  7. Contribute to teaching efforts and maintain scholarly, research, or professional activities.
  8. Support research and scholarship related to pastoral care, student experience, and selection.
  9. Participate in School committees.
  10. Assist with engagement of the School's Alumni.
  11. Participate in events related to students, orientation, enrolment, and pastoral care.

Qualifications and Skills:

Medical, Clinical Psychology, or health discipline degree is required. The ability to manage complex personal and professional issues and provide high-quality pastoral care is also necessary. Experience in teaching at master's level or higher, or in health/professional practice education is desirable. Effective communication and negotiation skills are also essential.
