Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective underwriting strategies to target specific markets and accounts
  • Apply sound judgment to evaluate and manage liability insurance risks according to established guidelines and standards
  • Collaborate with various teams to support account management and procurement efforts
  • Mentor and provide guidance to team members, while also pursuing personal development opportunities
  • Effectively manage the liability portfolio, including processing, credit management, documentation, and risk servicing
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external customers, including regular visits to agents and brokers
About You:
  • Experience in general liability underwriting, risk management, or related fields is essential
  • A thorough understanding of insurance legal and regulatory environments, as well as risk analysis principles, is required
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for engaging with agents, brokers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in risk evaluation and coverage determination are crucial
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required for navigating complex underwriting scenarios and negotiations
  • A customer-focused approach is essential for understanding and meeting client needs
  • Experience with pricing, portfolio management, and intermediary account management is desirable
  • An insurance qualification such as ANZIIF Cert IV or working towards it is preferred
