Job Title: Operations and Supply Chain Capability Manager

The Operations and Supply Chain Capability Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the right people, skills, and systems are in place to support operational and supply chain targets. This involves driving strategic workforce planning and capability development to meet current and future program demands.

This challenging role requires a collaborative approach with planning teams to identify resource and capability gaps across Operations and Supply Chain programs. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of workforce capability strategies aligned with operational and program delivery objectives.

  • Collaborate with planning teams to identify short-, medium-, and long-term resource and capability gaps.
  • Lead the development and execution of workforce capability strategies.
  • Partner with Recruitment, Learning & Development, and Talent teams to address workforce shortfalls and support capability building initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Operations and Supply Chain Capability team.
  • Support effective resource prioritisation and decision-making within a constrained workforce environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying and implementing high-quality solutions to complex workforce and operational challenges.
  • Ensuring alignment with ASC's operational and program delivery objectives.
  • Maintaining a proactive approach to addressing emerging issues and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. They will be an innovative problem-solver, able to drive strategic thinking and implementation.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Proven experience in operations and supply chain management, preferably in a defence or space industry context.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning and capability development principles.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
