Railroad Grapple Truck Operator Job Summary

Join our team of skilled operators who specialize in dismantling railroad tracks, removing ties from right-of-ways, and demolishing bridges. As a grapple truck operator, you will be responsible for hauling heavy loads, securing cargo, and working independently in all weather conditions.

This is a physically demanding role that requires strong mechanical skills, attention to safety protocols, and excellent communication abilities. You will work closely with dispatchers, office employees, and other team members to ensure seamless operations and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Hauling railroad ties, scrap metal, scrap wood, and equipment
  • Securing loads with strapping, tarping, and torquing
  • Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting problems on equipment
  • Filling out daily paperwork and working independently
Qualifications
  • Class A and/or B CDL required
  • Two years of experience in heavy haulage or a related field
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic repairs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
