At Calvary, we are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team in delivering treatment options to individuals struggling with drug and alcohol problems. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based counselling services to clients, including psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and other relevant interventions.
  • Motivate clients towards change, using harm minimisation and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Identify and respond to significant risk factors or deterioration in client condition, developing and implementing appropriate management plans.


Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling, and registration with AHPRA or the Australian Counselling Association.
  • Highly developed knowledge of alcohol and other drugs theoretical frameworks, national guidelines, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • A sound understanding of professional, ethical, and legal requirements in treating and managing alcohol and other drug problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively, delivering care with integrity and accountability.
