Senior Addiction Therapist Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Addiction Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in delivering treatment options to individuals struggling with drug and alcohol problems.

About The Position

The successful applicant will be available for client allocation when demand exceeds staffing levels and annual leave coverage is required. As a Senior Addiction Therapist, you will provide generalist therapeutic services to clients in our residential program.

  • Deliver evidence-informed therapy, including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and relevant interventions, to support client recovery.
  • Implement harm minimisation and relapse prevention strategies to motivate clients towards positive change.
  • Identify, respond to, and escalate significant risk factors or deteriorating client conditions, developing and implementing appropriate management plans.
  • Foster caring, supportive relationships with clients and their families/carers.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Psychology, Social Work, Counselling) and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Registration with the Australian Counselling Association.
  • Detailed knowledge of alcohol and other drugs theoretical frameworks, national guidelines, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • A sound understanding of professional, ethical, and legal requirements underpinning the treatment and clinical management of substance use disorders.
  • Effective prioritisation and workload organisation skills, delivering care with integrity and accountability.
